When accepting the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10th, 1964, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said: "I believe that 'unarmed truth' and 'unconditional love' will have the final word in reality. This is why 'right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.'" Today, the "unarmed truth" is that the Pre-Born child is a Person not Property. I believe Personhood is God-given and not government-granted. It is not offered to the elite and denied to the "least of these." I believe Personhood addresses the most important RIGHT of all...the RIGHT to LIVE, without which all other rights are meaningless. The Ohio Personhood Amendment understands this and has my support.

"Believing that every human life, unborn and born, has intrinsic worth and equal value is the underpinning of our nation's moral core. As one who lived through the Jim Crow laws of the South and saw how people of color were treated as 'less' I am encouraged that the Personhood movement is reminding us that all people are deserving of the protections afforded us as human beings. We should never ask people to determine if one person is 'more' valuable than another because of wealth, appearance, IQ, ancestry, ethnic origin, or physical capacity. Attempts to dismiss the concept of Personhood will eventually be met with common sense and common decency. Until then, we must continue to speak out boldly for the rights of all to enjoy 'life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.'"

In Proverbs 31:8 it says, "Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy." Those who are speechless are surely the unborn children who are being aborted every day in our state.

I believe that Personhood Ohio has been called to be that mouth for the speechless. I have been fighting for the life of the unborn for over thirty years. I believe with all my heart this is the "moral issue of our day" much like slavery was the moral issue of the day hundreds of years ago. Each of us will have to answer to God for how we responded to the cries of these innocent children. Are we going to be courageous or are we going to live in denial and hope abortion just goes away?

Please consider helping us stop this blood bath. Help us gather signatures to get this on the ballot in November. Pray for God to do a miracle. It is time for the church of Jesus Christ to be a voice for righteousness. If you have any questions or would like some help in gathering the signatures at your church, we would be glad to help.

"This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and you children may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19). Almighty God's position on life is unmistakable. The Personhood Amendment gives Ohioans the opportunity to do the right, godly thing and stand for life without shame.

We don't get active on political issues here because we want to focus on Jesus. But this is important enough to speak out. We need to pray for the Ohio Personhood Amendment to pass. We have killed too many children. If the Ohio Personhood Amendment is how God wants to end abortion, God be praised.
